Dean Brame

I consider myself a local boy, born in Exeter and raised in Exeter. I love it here!

I developed a passion for music as a youngster after getting my hands on my mother's 45's which dated back to the 50's. I was hooked.

After getting off on Bill Haley's comets I grew up to realise that maybe the seductive vocals of Donna Summer were more to my taste and my identity was finally established.

I was a glam rock fan at Bradley Rowe and this was where I had my first taste of D.J.ing, taking my own 45's into school at the end of term.

Punk was my thing at Hele's and music lessons with 'Freakey Deakey' were a highlight as we were allowed to bring in our new releases and play them on the school's new 'Music Centre'. We were cool.

After cutting my teeth on mobiles I started working in the clubs in and around Exeter, before starting a radio career in 1997. I'm so excited about being part of Exeter FM, a real local radio station, and being able to bring back great memories from the 70's and 80's disco explosion along with some of those wonderful Motown classics that dominated the dance floors.
